algebraic surface 2.0
algebraic geometry in architectural design | cottbus 2010

In the second part of the experimental design and research project at the BTU we kept going to explor manifold novel shapes found in algebraic geometry. Especially we focused on the scope of possibilities to deform and manipulate these surfaces. For this bookshelf I used the „diagonal surface of clebsch“ [DSOC].

The algebraic equation of the DSOC is:

16x^3+16y^3-31z^3+24x^2z-48x^2y-48xy^2+24y^2z-54sqrt(3)z^2-72z=0
